Star Wars fans have come together on a petition to get Disney to release the extended director's cut of The Rise of Skywalker.

Talk of the supposed "J.J. Cut" started on Reddit after a user claimed that J.J. Abrams was blindsided by the changes that were made to the film without his knowledge. According the the user, Abrams' original version was three hours long and different from the two hour and 22 minute theatrical version that hit theaters.

The petition that launched on change.org has already received 5,800 signatures.
