About me:
I am originally from Huntington Beach, CA. I started my radio career in Hawaii. After spending 10 years doing morning radio there, I packed up my kids and came back to Southern California where I grew up. I worked at one of MYfm's sister stations for over two years from a studio just 30 feet down the hall of Southern California's MYfm. I would often press my nose against the window of MYfm's studio and stare longingly at the controls inside. I envied the talent for having so much fun on the air. Finally, management got tired of wiping my face smudges off the window and offered me a job! When I'm not working, I'm outdoors as much as possible with my two sons. In the dirt, in the water, in the sand, grass, trees or mud - we love it all. P.S. I do laundry every other day.
If stranded on a desert island the 3 things she would need?
Gum - you never know when you'll need minty fresh breath, A BIG hat to prevent over-exposure of the sun that leads to signs of premature aging and Red Licorice.

This summer I have been taking photos of my family and turning them into memories with the KODAK Photo Book.

I'm sure you have heard me talking about how fun and easy it is to use and I wanted to share with you the KODAK Photo Book I created.

It was super easy and I was able to make it at my local Wal-mart.

It's a Longshot
Thursday 08-21-2008 10:09am PT

Okay, there are some pretty entertaining movies out this week so the choice is tough.  I am going to have to base my pick on the fact that my son really wants to see this movie……NO it’s not House Bunny!  My top pick this week is Longshots.  It is based on a true story of a poor Illinois town that comes together to support the local Pop Warner football team and their unlikely quarterback, Jasmine Plummer (Keke Palmer), the first female in Pop Warner's history. Getting coaching from her uncle Curtis (Ice Cube), a former high school football star, Jasmine leads her team, the Minden Browns to the Pop Warner Super Bowl and inspires the town of Minden, Illinois to reclaim some of its former glory.  Yes, this is a feel good movie and I sure think our kids need more of these.  I have to say that the other reasons I picked this movie are because it stars KeKe Palmer, I just loved her in "Akeelah and the Bee", and the other reason is the guy that directed this movie is Fred Durst from Limp Bizkit!

Longshots is rated PG

An unlikely pick
Friday 07-25-2008 10:04am PT

The movie choices this week are a little slim.  The Batman flick will probably stay #1 at the box office.  I’m not an X-files fan so I’m not recommending that one. Oh, and “Step Brothers,”  not even when it comes out on DVD.  My pick this week is American Teen.   American Teen is the touching and hilarious Sundance hit that follows the lives of four teenagers - a jock, the popular girl, the artsy girl and the geek – in one small town in Indiana through their senior year of high school. We see the insecurities, the cliques, the jealousies, the first loves and heartbreaks, and the struggle to make profound decisions about the future.

I really loved the characters in this movie and think it is a good movie for teens to see.  With considerable intimacy and a lots of humor, American Teen captures the pressures of growing up – pressures that come from one’s peers, one’s parents, and not least, oneself.

American Teen is rated PG-13

Best movie ever!

My pick this week is a must see for everyone!  Go see WALL-E!  This movie is fantastic in every aspect.  The folks at Pixar have outdone themselves.  WALL-E is entertaining, sweet, moving and intelligent.  Here’s the premise:  In the 29th century, the blue planet has become the rust planet. 700 years before, when the skies had become filled with so much smog and the ground covered with so much trash that almost all plants and animals had gone extinct, what was left of mankind took off on a huge space cruise ship, intending to come back a few years later, once robots had cleaned up their mess. Alas, that didn't pan out and humans have been floating in space ever since. Back on Earth, only one of the Waste Allocation Load Lifter • Earth class is still active and, understandably, it's feeling lonely. So when EVE, a sleekly designed probe robot shows up, little WALL•E falls desperately in love with it.  Now before you think it sounds too corney, trust me it is totally believable.  WALL-E is the best movie of this year!

WALL-E is rated G.

Annnnnnd Loving it!

I am happy tell you that my movie pick for this week is “Get Smart.”  I have been waiting for this movie ever since I heard that Steve Carell would be playing Secret Agent 86.   The movie pretty much follows the storyline established by the television show: Maxwell Smart (Steve Carell) is on a mission to thwart the latest plot for world domination by the evil crime syndicate known as KAOS. When the headquarters of U.S. spy agency Control is attacked and the identities of its agents compromised, the Chief (Alan Arkin) has no choice but to promote his ever-eager analyst Maxwell Smart, who has always dreamt of working in the field alongside stalwart superstar Agent 23 (Dwayne Johnson). Smart is partnered instead with the lovely-but-lethal veteran Agent 99 (Anne Hathaway).  Of course he has his spy gadgets, but with little experience it will be quite a challenge to stop Siegfied and KAOS.  This is a very fun movie and Steve Carell is the perfect choice for Maxwell Smart.

Get Smart is rated PG-13
