The Dodgers got swept by the San Francisco Giants over the weekend, but some good did from it.
Matt Kemp made a promise to the third base coach that he would sign an autograph for Dodgers fan, Joshua Jones – who is suffering from inoperable brain tumors and was sitting in the first row. But Matt Kemp ended up doing a lot more than that.
He took off his cap, jersey and cleats and handed them all to Joshua.
After it happened, Kemp didn't even make a big deal of it. He said: “I didn't plan on taking the jersey off, but it's something I felt would probably cheer him up a little bit … and that was my first time taking my shoes off in front of the fans. But life is so much bigger than baseball.”
